The scene shop at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts features a cork layer lining to depress sound, allowing work to continue while performances are taking place.

The Wildlife Veterinary Epidemiology Lab (part of the Prairie Research Institute) is a trailblazer in the realm of wildlife disease management. Their research balances the conservation and restoration of natural resources with societal needs surrounding disease impact to humans and animals.

There are 18,176 trees identified in the campus tree inventory. Facilities & Services staff includes a rope access team that can perform arborist rescue operations, if necessary.

There are more than 2,300 labs at Illinois, each with faculty and student investigators doing advanced research to improve the world. Every lab has its own set of practices and potential hazards, requiring careful management by the Principal Investigator and the researchers.

There's a full-service greenhouse on campus for faculty who grow plants for teaching and/or research use. The Plant Care Facility (part of the College of ACES) offers greenhouse space, watering, fertilizer, planting, pest control, and soil mixing.

In the first two years of their program, Illinois veterinary students get 16 weeks of hands-on training in a variety of settings, including the Clinical Skills Learning Center.

A team of expert farriers at the College of Veterinary Medicine handles advanced, therapeutic shoeing and hoof care for horses in the area. (More basic services like a simple hoof trim are also available.)
